Stopping a line and continuously adjusting its flow are distinct duties. If the process needs modulation, give flow and pressure-drop information and request a configuration intended for control rather than simply adding an actuator to an on/off valve.
Outdoor exposure, chemical fumes and washdown can affect the operating assembly as well as the fluid-contact parts. Include the surrounding conditions and required enclosure protection in the enquiry.

Actuator selection needs the valve's required torque or thrust under the specified conditions. Supply cycle frequency, air or power availability, speed requirements and desired failure position so the operating package can be assessed together.
